Utah trip

Here is our Utah vacation by the numbers. We had a blast and enjoyed every minute of it. Thanks to everyone for making our trip such a success.

2 delays in the airport for a total of about 5 hours. ( I guess higher oil prices means more delays?)
2 weddings (Dale and Bruce both married well above themselves, welcome to Brittany and Jillian)
1 baptism (just as special as the weddings for our family)
1 baby blessing (It was great to see old friends and catch up)
18 holes of golf
3 naps in one week for Robert- a record (Working in New York has nothing on vacationing in Utah)
0 number of hours that were unplanned
10 miles ran
4 number of games of baseball that Alli, Spencer and Robert played behind Grandma and Grandpa Thorpe's house.
1 number of times that Jen ran with Robert (That probably makes about 5 times that we have run together since we have been married).
2 number os weeks that make the ideal Utah vacation (maybe next time)

Whoopie!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Well as you can expect Zachary gets all of the attention these days. He is the first one up in the morning, smiles the rest of the day and is starting to crawl, although he gets bored with it and will instead find something that he can pull himself up on and stand. Rob bought a Whoopie cushion at the store the other day and has used it on everybody so far except Allison. Zachary will play with it and hit you with it but when he sits on it he let's out as much of a shriek as the whoopie cushion- he is completely petrified and scared.

The Hike

Hiking is one of our families favorite hobbies. Rob took the kids out one Saturday in January for a really long hike, probably about 3 miles. They came back with a little surprise for mom.

They told me that they had a new decoration for the house. I thought maybe they found some wild flowers, a cool rock or something like that....NO, the had found, and brought into our house, a fox vertebrae and skull. Spencer said, "Mom, we think it's a Red Fox, and guess what? It's dead!!" It was so funny.

So, if you come and visit us you will see some interesting bones way up on our bookshelf. The three of them were so proud of there find. I never know what to expect when they go out for a hike.

Happy New Year!!

For New Years Eve this year we went to our wards annual bowling party. The kids love doing this. It is really a great time.
There are a few lanes just for the kids to bowl on with the bumpers up. Both Allison and Spencer are pretty good little bowlers.

Robert had a wonderful birthday. The kids had fun putting 33 candles on his cake. We didn't think he would blow them all out at one time, but he was able to. What a man!!

Winter fun!

After Christmas we decided to brave the cold and go to see the lights at the zoo. 3 moms and 11 kids made for quite the adventure. It was a lot of fun though, and the kids liked seeing all of the animals in lights. The zoo is one of our favorite places to go.

This is Zachary's first time trying out food. He really was not so keen on the idea at first, but then he really got into it. Alli and Spenc thought all of his funny faces were hilarious.

Christmas 2007

The kids were so excited for Christmas this year. It was a lot of fun seeing how much they liked finding things to give to friends and family.

This might have been the favorite things this year. Santa brought all three kids footsie pajamas. They couldn't wait to get them on and then never took them off.

Zachary was not sure what to think of his first Christmas. He really liked the wrapping paper. He would play with it for a little bit and then it went straight in the mouth.

Allison and Spencer were in charge of handing out the gifts this year. Spencer seemed to only find gifts for him. (suprise, suprise :) They had a great time doing this. Their favorite thing to do was to help Zachary open his presents. They sure do love their little brother.

This not so flattering picture was taken by our little photographer Spencer. He is always wanting to use the camera.

This is a fun tradition that we have. We like to take a picture with all of our gifts all over us. Allison and Spencer love this part. Zachary....well he wasn't so sure about it.
