Guilt post

This post is strictly about our guilt for not having posted since Halloween. We will skip the usual excuses and will just list a couple of things that we have done (besides taking up new hobbies).

1. Watched Utah get robbed against BYU-.Those two calls against the Utes at the end- Are you kidding me???????

2. Visited the Bergesons in Ohio for thanksgiving and had a blast (except for #1).

3. CFA exam- Rob took a 240 question 6 hour test a couple of weeks ago.

4. Spencer now wakes up once or twice a week and we play playstation together before the rest of the family gets up.

5. Today it rained ice and the schools closed early.

6. Jen now teaches 3 classes at the YMCA. Her mother in law would be proud.

7. Jen has been watching a lot of Rachel Ray and is baking a ton. I had my first tender pork chop as a result.

8. Zachary rolled from his belly to his back and scoots in circles.

9. Spencer loves to read (The majors legacy that grandpa majors started continues now through two generations)

10. Alli is learning about the stress of test taking from weekly timed tests in addition and subtraction.

Happy Halloween

Well the big day finally came and we had a blast!!!!! The kids had a parade at school and we went to two different neighborhoods to trick or treat. The highlight had to be the house where they handed out dollar bills.

Spencer's "All Star" Party

Spencer had a great time at his "All Star" sports party. Here is a cute picture of his friends.
Max, Gavin, Josh, James, Spencer, and Garrett.

Spencer made his wish and blew out his candles. (with very little spit :)

At the end of the party Rob put on Spencer's favorite song "Who Let the Dogs Out". The boys had a great time dancing. They have some great moves.

Alli and Spencer's first post

Today was the primay program. Both Alli and Spencer had parts that they memorized beforehand and did a fantastic job. Spencer says "I liked it when I was doing my part." Allison says "I liked when we did the sign language for "Jesus said love everyone." Spencer's Lines: I know that when Joseph Smith was praying for help that Heavenly Father and Jesus came down to talk to him."

Allison's lines: "When my grandma broke her hip, I was able to help my mom clean her house. It was a lot of fun and it made me feel good to help my grandma."
Spencer is doing well in school and enjoys reading books and working on the computer every Monday. Alli enjoys science and math. She also enjoys checking out books from the library.

Alli's entry:

Spencers entry:

Spencer's Birthday

Well six years ago the Yankees were still in the playoffs and I was a day away from bombing a couple of mid term tests. Believe it or not we actually watched an entire Yankees game during the labor. Had Spencer been born during the game we might be celebrating the birthday of
Derek Robert Majors. Some things have changed since then but Spencer is still just as tender hearted and happy as ever. Below are a couple of pictures of the birthday boy and his biggest fan.

Guess who

This is a picture of the newest member of the Majors peleton completing a 4 mile mountain bike ride. Any guesses on who this fearless youngster is??????

Of course it is our little Allison. We have been mountain biking twice and she has had a blast. She is already talking about getting a mountain bike so that she can ride over the rocks. This is the spot where she mustered the courage to ride into the river. The first time that we went I pointed to and told her that was where I rode in the river and got wet. I started to turn around to go back but Allison was off her bike surveying the situation. She was nervous and scared the first time down and needed about 5 minutes to make up her mind to try it. Right after she hit the cold water and realized what had just happened and how scared she was she had a good cry. Luckily she figured out that the other side was not as steep and she makes sure that when we ride that she rides in the river 3 or 4 times.

Alli taking a much deserved rest.

New photos of Zachary and kids

The three musketers. Aren't they cute! Allison 71/2 yrs. , Spencer 5 1/2 yrs., and Zachary 2 weeks.

The kids like this one because they say it looks like he is getting ready to karate chop someone. :)

Here he is only a week old and already deep in thought. So much like his daddy.

Zachary coming home

Allison and Spencer picked out the cute outfit for Zachary to wear home from the hospital.

3 kids, 1 hike and 15 frogs

Spencer and I went running/hiking the other day at the Watchung reservation and found a little pond with about 15 frogs. The pond was about 6 feet wide and not too deep so we could get up close and personal. We spent a good 20 minutes catching and observing the frogs and having a blast. It is great to find something where you can be a kid again. The frogs that I remember catching were at the sewer behind Meadowlark Elementary back home. Watchung is definitely better than the sewer.

How we managed to not fall in is still a mystery. A couple of days later we went back with Jen and Alli to continue the fun. Alli had just as much fun as Spencer and I did and Jen provided the adult supervision. We have been making a real effort lately to get the kids outside more (they are a little too comfortable in front of the computer and TV) and Watchung is only a 5 minute drive so you can bet that we will be spending a lot more time there.

Zachary Paul Majors

All 9 pounds and 8 ounces of Zachary Paul Majors arrived at 5:05 p.m. on the 17th. That makes a perfect 3 for 3 on kids being born on the 17th. Jenni and Zachary came home this morning and Jen is feeling dandy. Enjoy the pictures.
